Streetlifting Competetion WaiverStreetlifting Competition WaiverEVENT & COMPETITION FORMAT Streetlifting Competition is a crowd-judged competition testing competitors' one-rep max on pull-ups and dips, open to competitors of every level. Women compete first, followed by men. To keep the energy up, multiple lifters may take the bar at once during qualifiers. There are no judges and no scoresheets — the crowd decides each attempt with a thumbs up or thumbs down. Each category/interval is limited to a maximum of 10 participants. Role Participant SpectatorParticipant InformationFirst NameLast NamePhone NumberDate Of BirthIs the participant/spectator under 19 years old? Yes NoASSUMPTION OF RISK — GENERAL I understand that participating in or attending a bodyweight training, calisthenics, strength training, or fitness competition involves inherent risks and hazards. These risks may include, but are not limited to: Slips, trips, falls, and collisions Muscle soreness, strains, sprains, and tears Tendon or ligament injuries Joint injuries or dislocations Bone fractures Contact with bars, weights, plates, racks, flooring, or other equipment Equipment movement, malfunction, or failure Overexertion, fatigue, dizziness, or fainting Cardiovascular stress Head, neck, or spinal injury Injury caused by other participants or spectators Serious or permanent injury, disability, paralysis, or, in rare circumstances, death I understand that not all risks can be predicted or eliminated, even when reasonable safety precautions are taken. I voluntarily choose to participate in or attend the Event with knowledge of these risks. ASSUMPTION OF RISK — COMPETITION-SPECIFIC I understand that participating in a maximum-effort or one-repetition-maximum ("1RM") competition involves risks beyond those associated with ordinary fitness training. I specifically understand and acknowledge that: Attempting maximum weight or maximum repetitions places increased stress on muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, and the cardiovascular system. Maximum-effort attempts carry a greater risk of injury than submaximal training. Fatigue may increase throughout the competition and may affect technique, grip, coordination, balance, or judgment. I may lose my grip, balance, or control during an attempt. Weights, plates, belts, bars, or other equipment may shift, fall, or make contact with me or another person. Incorrect loading or unloading of weights may create additional risks. Multiple competitors, staff, volunteers, or spectators may be present in or near the competition area, creating a risk of incidental contact or collision. The venue may be loud, busy, crowded, or distracting. Coaches and staff may be present but cannot provide continuous one-on-one spotting, supervision, or technical correction for every competitor during every attempt, unlike a coach-led personal training session or class. Equipment may move, malfunction, or fail despite reasonable inspection and maintenance. Maximum-effort competition may result in serious injury, permanent disability, paralysis, or, in rare circumstances, death. I understand these additional risks and voluntarily choose to compete. HEALTH DECLARATION & SELF-ASSESSED READINESS I confirm that, to the best of my knowledge, I am physically capable of participating in the Event. I am not aware of any medical condition, injury, illness, impairment, or other circumstance that would make my participation unsafe, except for anything I have separately disclosed to Calibar Fitness before participating. I agree to: Inform Calibar Fitness staff of any relevant injury, medical condition, or safety concern before competing; Stop an attempt if I experience unusual pain, dizziness, faintness, shortness of breath, loss of control, or other concerning symptoms; and Exercise reasonable judgment when selecting and attempting weights or repetitions. I understand that I am responsible for assessing my own readiness to participate and that participation is voluntary. Calibar Fitness reserves the right to refuse, modify, or stop an attempt where staff reasonably believe that continuing presents an immediate safety risk to the competitor or others. RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND HOLD HARMLESS In consideration of being permitted to participate in or attend the Event, I, on behalf of myself and my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Calibar Fitness and its owners, directors, officers, employees, coaches, contractors, volunteers, representatives, and agents (collectively, "Calibar Fitness") in respect of claims arising from my participation in or attendance at the Event, including claims arising from the ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE of Calibar Fitness, to the fullest extent permitted by the laws of British Columbia.
