The Story Behind Calisthenics

Before there were barbells or machines, there was calisthenics — the art of mastering your own body.

 

The word calisthenics comes from the ancient Greek words kallos meaning beauty and sthenos for strength.

 

Calisthenics has been around for centuries — used by ancient warriors and athletes to harness the power of their own bodies.
